Embracing her calling
as an entertainer, Steph began to transition from music
to TV and film. Her first acting gig was in the 2006 hit
film, Miami Vice staring Jaime Foxx and Colin Farrell.
As a result of that, her appetite for film grew. After
working with the band for three and a half years, Steph
was offered an opportunity that she couldn’t resist.
Currently, she can be seen at the B.B. Kings Blues Club
in West Palm Beach as a lead vocalist for The B.B. Kings
All Star Band.

The hard-charging trio
of siblings racked up the 2012 Best Blues Band award at the
16th annual Pitch Music Awards and then added more bling
to their trophy case by recently notching their second straight
Blues Blast Music award for Band of the Year. TUF also took
home the Sean Costello Rising Star Award from last year’s
Blues Blast Music Awards. Not too shabby, especially when considering
the competition, along with the fact that TUF has been together
as a fully-functioning unit for less than a decade.

Sarah Packiam is an Irish-Indian
siren with striking green eyes and an even more alerting
and powerful voice. Raised south of Dublin near another Irish
crooner Bono, she left her homeland at 18 and spent time
in Holland and Spain. For the past three years, she’s
played mandolin, guitar, and piano and sung original and
cover songs

Some people (usually those who do not attend ‘karaoke
nights’) view this type of amateur audible voyeurism
as annoying at best. They picture the experience in their head
as untalented losers with nothing better to do scratching their
vocal nails on a blackboard. I admit, I was once at least a
minor proponent of this uneducated theory, that is, before
I tried it and discovered how mistaken I was.

While it is not impossible to master
your music at the comforts of your own home given the numerous
high quality audio mastering software we have today, you
may need to undergo a steep learning curve just to make
sure that you know what you are doing. After all, you cannot
just bang a compressor and call it a day. Audio mastering
is definitely a lot more than that.

Well... do you? What
this means is, do you have any songs yet? How many? You
can't play a show with only a couple songs. Most places
you go play at will give you at least 15-20 minutes. So
have at least 5 or 6 songs ready and know them. Mistakes
happen when playing live, but the more you make the less
interested people will be in you. You've got to be able
to play them with your eyes closed. You must have the lyrics
memorized perfectly.

Recording
your own album requires that you embrace the project at a
realistic level; it takes some work, work that might never
have occurred to you. It requires preparation of your songs
and yourself as a player. And it requires that you educate
yourself on important topics that might seem overwhelming
but are necessary to know.

So your newly formed band seems to be working well. You've
done a few gigs and fans love it. You want to take your band
to the next level and you want everything done professionally.
The very next thing you need to do is come up with a Band
Agreement. Basically, it's a contract that states the obligations
every band member has to the band and to the other band members
and the benefits each band member is entitled to.
