Astrid Pazmino was born in Queens, New York City and was a straight A student in school and was accepted into the gifted program called SPE which meant she would have graduated high school by 14 but due to her parent's divorce, she had to move to Florida and start over again! She had to leave New York but she took her talent for music and love of music with her and landed in Miami Beach!

Fortunately for her( and their high school) she went to Miami Beach High who had Mr. Burris as their music director. Not only did he become her mentor but also kind of a father figure to her even though their relationship was just like relatives, sometimes fun and at times volatile and combative!

It was hard to stay mad at him because he is a quadriplegic due to MS and he is SUCH an inspiration to those of us who know him so onward we would forge! I had heard of auditions to be in the Rock Ensemble and having been in music programs in my New York schools, playing classical flute, singing, dancing and acting, I figured I'd give it a shot!

One kid was playing yesterday on the piano and I had already bombed my flute audition because of my DARN nerves( they betray me always) so I started to sing! well all of a sudden this man in a wheelchair rolls out like Speedracer and asks in a stern voice....WHO WAS THAT SINGING? I thought I was in BIG trouble for singing away during audition break time so I reluctantly raised my hand awaiting my impending doom! He asked my name again and I gave it and he said " well Miss Astrid, throw away your flute BUT you can sing GREAT and out of SO many singers who auditioned today, I want YOU to join our Rock Ensemble, would you like the spot?"

WOW! ME THE NERD BIRD FROM NEW YORK, COOL ENOUGH TO BE IN THIS ROCK GROUP? ME, THE KID WHO WAS MADE FUN OF FOR HER CHEAPO REJECT SNEAKERS, FOUR EYES, MOPTOP HAIR, CARPENTER DREAM BUSTLINE OR LACK THEREOF, BERTHA BUTT BOOGIE big butt? me? HECK YA, I'M IN!!

And so I was reborn that day! my days of wanting to be a United Nation's Translator were officially OVER! (HAD I KNOWN I BLEW MAKING MORE THAN $250,000 A YEAR BY CHOOSING MUSIC) I would have made another choice but regardless I loved music and have given it my ALL!

I can almost say I have given music my life, soul, blood, sweat and tears for there have been MANY tears throughout the years! High school bands grew into jamming with University of Miami students who LOVED the fact that at 16 I had more balls than most guys and could rock harder than most guys and I was and still am a banshee on stage!! During high school I was accepted to University of Miami's Jazz Ensemble directed by Larry Lapin, went to Miami Dade College for guitar and voice.

Went on tour with local rock bands, opened up for Pat Travers, Kansas,Styx and paid my dues starving in many of the bands even to the point of eating ALPO dog food and yes FRISKEES buffet CAT FOOD!! DON'T KNOCK IT TIL YOU ARE STARVING THEN YOU WILL DIG IT like we did!

After selling cosmetics and doing mindless day jobs upon retuning home to help support my family (no thanks to dad leaving us NOTHING)

I told him I could and so one jingle went so well, it became my new career path in music and I have done MANY local, regional and national commercials and the famous one I am known for is "Freedom" for Consolidated Credit Counseling and South Florida Center for Cosmetic Surgery - "just one look"! Again doing this for more than 7 years I got the itch to further tap into my reservoir of talent so i was always known for making funny sounds and imitating voices so one joke turned into a call from my agent Cliff Walker who got me an audition for PBS to voice their Spanish character STAR for their kids show called NINA'S LITTLE FABLES-GOODNIGHT SHOW!

I got the gig, next thing you know I am flown to Philly to record at Comcast PBS headquarters, met with their GREAT staff and did 26 episodes of their show in Spanish, made some great money and cracked open another phase in my career journey! Today I am also the drummer in a KISS TRIBUTE band called KIZZKLOWNZ! it started out as a surprise party for my boyfriend who loves KISS like i do so I thought what a GREAT idea to do a party with my buddies dressed as KISS jamming our favorite KISS tunes and so it went over so well , that the manage for Bayside Miami Hard Rock hired us to play their KISSKRUISE show this Oct 30th so I am SO excited about that!
