Bobby
Gugliuzza is a singer, songwriter in the pop-acoustic
tradition whose music is original and authentic. He’s a great live performer
who his mother’s side of the family and his dad’s
also, who was a jazz drummer. TV was a big influence, watching
Jackson 5, Saturday night live, Heehaw, Elvis, any one
great!!!! Music runs in the blood.
‘Ordinary Life’ marks the first solo recordings by singer, songwriter,
Bobby Gugliuzza. His solo debut album released on July 30,
2011 which features sixteen tracks including his title track, “ Ordinary
Life.” Gugliuzza
sings lead vocals and he, along with help from local musician
friends, laid all the tracks on the project which was recorded at his own Visual
Volume Studios in West Palm Beach, FL.
Bobby says of his work: “If I
had to choose one word to describe what I do, I’ve always seen myself
as a “ storyteller” about
ordinary life. No matter what kind of songs I write--from
love ballads to political, social, and/or environmental issues--I’m always
telling a story, painting pictures with words, melodies, and the sound of my
voice. I’ve always preferred
live performance in front of an audience. That’s
where the songs take on a life of their own, night after
night.”

for many national
bands and artists including Night Ranger, Jimmy Needham, Flyleaf,
Newsboys,
Rodger Waters, America, Foghat, Boston, Bad Company. He has also
published
songs with Grammy nominated Latin songwriter, Armando Larrinaga.
His song, “I
Feel Fine” was produced by Ben Rowling, producer and cousin
of the famous author
J. K. Rowling.
The writing process
|
The writing
process begins with an inspiring thought that gets fed
by everyday life that goes on around his mind. "I
like to write emotional songs about what I and my friends
have been through. When it’s time to record I simply
walk to the back yard where my Recording Studio is located.
I like to record the Drums, bass, and scratch vocal and
Guitar together than work everything else in." Bobby
would like to see a well-produced song or two from a Nashville
producer. "I’m looking forward to doing a professional
Video to one of my songs in the near future. I may be making
an appearance on CBS but can’t disclose the info
yet. "
He appeared on local WPEC, Channel 12's "Good Morning South Florida" and
has also appeared on Univision Live. You can usually find him either in his West
Palm Beach studio working on his music and is also a favorite in the local south
Florida club scene. He is also working on his musical called "The Tenth
Symphony Rock &
Roll Musical Adventure."
When asked about the current state of the
industry, this is what Bobby has to say "What would
you like to see? For starters how about an increase in
what a musician makes on a local club gig!!!!!! It is plain
BULL how much we get paid by club owners. Gas goes
up, drinks and food goes up ,parking goes up but musicians
get paid the same, the same money we made fifteen, twenty
years ago. Come on what’s up with that?" |
The Internet has changed the business positive
and negative. 100% both ways, you don’t need a record deal,
but if you want a good online presence it’s going to cost
you lots. Bobby believes a catalog of songs is like an untapped
oil reserve that will be worth lots one day, another words, a
payday will be nice. "I have already contributed my whole life,
my songs that will be left behind when I’m gone."
