Wow... check this out
after thirty years a film is being released to show the world
a little of what South Florida had to offer during a lost
bygone time.. It seems the rest of the world overlooked what
was happening in sunny sofla and maybe this film will let
them see what they missed. A labor of love this project has
taken over three years to complete with all the musicians
and fans alike contributing time and feedback to bring it
to fruition.
In the late seventies and early eighties
South Florida had one of the most eclectic original music
scenes in the country. Bands like The Eat, The Reactions,
The Front, The Cichlids, Charlie Pickett & The Eggs and
dozens more were making a new kind of racket in the land
that time forgot. By 1985, it was all over.
This has always has been a difficult situation
and market for rock bands looking to bring their music to
the world. Florida unlike other music hubs such as New York,
Los Angeles, Boston or Texas always has a logistical issue
to be dealt with due to the size and location of the state
itself . Because of the distance to reach Miami and lack
of close proximity to other big music cities this has always
been a some what isolated market. |

Without bands leaving the state and touring
the country, unfortunately much of what happened here remains here
and the rest of the world remains blind to any scene that may have
existed. That with the lack of Rock radio and what is a very unique
cultural mix in the Miami area, this sometimes does not make for
the most enthusiastic group of rock fans locally.
However there will always be music... and this
seemed to be a magical time where the brotherhood, energy and
all the planets seemed to align in helping to produce a truly
special period in time where South Florida music really shined.
If you were there to live it, this film will surely bring back
the memories of the times spent rocking the nights away down South.
If you don't know what it was or arrived too late, well maybe this
is your chance to get a little glimpse of what you most certainly
missed.
