Twisted in the Fold
A long road of performing writing and producing
original music has brought Paul Martini to where he stands today. It started
in 1982 playing in a neighborhood band with his brother mostly Zeppelin and
Pink Floyd covers and the road eventually led me to writing the songs he had
in his heart. In his first original band “World
Echo” they
shared a warehouse space with Marilyn Manson..banging out a couple singles
that eventually ended up on college radio stations up and down Florida. After
the flame died on that band, Paul started Martini Band which went on to perform
and open up for national acts on the South Florida stages. They put out
4 Cd’s and one of the singles was used in a Indy film produced by Brian
Vanderheart of the Vervepipe. After that it was solo time.
In the early 90’s The South Florida
Music scene was booming with promise, bands like Saigon kick were getting
signed, and Putting South Florida on the map for great music acts. While
sharing a practice Warehouse with Marilyn Mansion and the Spooky Kids
Paul Anthony Martini, Shawn Cameron, Dean Hartman, and Dan Kline, Forged
a Band called World Echo. They were playing to standing room only crowds,
entertaining with their wild on-stage theatrics, and getting a lot of
Airplay with their single “Spaces”.
After 5 years with the band, Paul decided it was time
to go solo. By this time he had written over 2 cd’s worth of material
and wanted to test the waters. Adding some of the Talents of his wife
and bass Player Autumn Martini, The result was “ Between Light & the
Silvery Moon”. The Cd Blended Rock with Techno, and was compared
to Peter Gabriel, Nine-inch nails, and other moody Artists. The Cd was
an online success, and gained the Attention of Brian Vander Ark of the “Verve
pipe”, and the single “Lost in Time” was used in his
motion picture, Merger’s and Accusations.
Paul went on to write and produce, 3 more CD’s
with his newly Formed Band, The Martini Band. “Ecliptic Play ground, “Martini
band II”…and “Three is a Charm”. Utilizing Talented
Musicians, such as Chris Rizzola, The Guitar player From “Steel
Heart”. Ed Ethridge, Jeff Hines, Shawn Cameron, and of Course Autumn
Martini. |

The songwriting process for Paul is sometimes like being a
one legged man in a ass kicking contest. It can become tedious trying
to lay the perfect guitar lines down..when your not a guitar player, as Paul
plays everything live …but beyond the bass which Autumn Martini plays..its
all played on keyboard…so after a month or two of non stop writing,
he will pick the best of what he wants to produce, find what song will bring
the most joy to hear with the end result..and travel down that path till he
sees the light at the end of the tunnel.
Paul loves the fact that it’s his boat to row in the
direction he so chooses to. There are no arguments about creativity unless
he’s in the mood to kick himself in the ass. It’s a positive enlightning
thing writing music that doesn’t hold boundries to what others think
it should be.
Lost And Found
The CD’s enjoyed success, with online
sales, and at Borders music stores. While writing his next Project “ Loud & Clear” which
will be released on July 4th 2011, Paul was getting offers to write and
produce commercial jingles, for Major Automotive companies, such as Toyota,
Nissan, Lexus, And Honda to name a few. He currently is receiving more
Air Play than ever with his jingles and if you live in the U.S, chances
are you have heard at least 3 of them.
Lost and found the 2012 release is currently enjoying
nice sales on Itunes and other online stores….the 21 song cd is
a collection of songs Paul has written over the last 2 years, and he
says " It damn near killed me trying to produce, play and perform
the whole thing all on my onesy’s. Currently I'm working on the
2013 release “what now” its taking me to the place in writing
I've been trying to get to for a long time…a few radio singles..but
a whole lot more “Soul likes to travel tunes and I'm really
digging this one. We have been playing “Lost and Found” for
the 1st time and seeing people really digging it. There’s something
that’s
magical about someone coming up to you after you play your original’s
and saying…”Hey who originally did those songs?” |

everywhere you can purchase online music. Paul is 3 quarters Finished with
his next Project “4 Days From Home”.
All of the people that think that music isnt worth a damn unless
it was put on the radio by a talent show…Paul wouldlike to see them
put on a raft and sent to Atlantis. As an independent artist…Paul tells
us that he has never met a "Music Biz Man". But he has heard tthey
are nice fella’s and their teeth sparkle as they are taking 75% of the
sales of your work…but hey says Paul, "If I meet one I will let
you know…cheers!!!
Look forward to hearing more great music from Paul in the fure.
