A dream to make people happy
Silvia Brasil always
had a dream to communicate with the world, perform
and make people happy. It all started when she was
a child, at the age of 9, and began taking dance
classes. From those earnest beginings till today
it has become the exciting and creative life she
has continued to lead. In younger days the family
always worried about her being successful, having
a day job, becoming a lawyer, doctor or such, worried
that the entertainment industry was complicated and
very hard. So at the age of 18, after 9 years of
dancing, she finally decided to retire and go to
school for a degree, hoping to find a real job.
Looking for
something close to the entertainment industry and
with a goal of getting a better understanding
of the business side of things, Silvia started her
studies. At the time she was majoring in Mass Communications
and living in Sao Paulo, Brazil. She loved it and
her dream job back then was to be a newsreader. During
the 5 years at the university, she had many great
experiences in the TV industry, while working on
the production of National TV shows, with live broadcasting,
programs such as: Ana Maria Braga (the Oprah of Brazil),
MTV Brazil, etc. After she graduated from school
she decided to take a break and explore new horizons
for herself, so she decided to study English in London
for a few months, again having an amazing experience.
As fate would have it it was a brief return
to Brazil for a few months before packing again for
the other side of the world: Sydney Australia.
Before long she got the creative energy and fire
needed to start again, having the opportunity to
become friends with a dance company, who supported
her and gave her first jobs there, as the dance
career was again calling and restarting itself again.
After a few years, Silvia was blessed to meet her
agent, Ritchie Ramos, from 7 Flavors, who opened
the doors for even more opportunities. Silvia admits, " I
always have been a hustler, working hard to make
my dreams come true, in Australia I was doing castings
everyday, many times a day for TV commercials, movies
and productions, when I was not working I was looking
for a job or practicing."

In the other hand,
she kept a weekly webcast show, on famous BONDI FM, www.bondiflmcom.au.
The program was two hours of Brazilian music in English,
and the show was broadcast locally and internationally
via net. They also had a web camera, so she was able to
interact with the program's listeners all over the world.
It was an amazing experience, because, giving her the opportunity
to connect with a lot of people and promote Brazilian music
and culture, as the show continued for over five years.

In
2004, the travel continued as Silvia found herself
relocating to Japan for production of Space World www.spaceworld.com.
This gave her the opportunity to travel and live
in Japan while working on this amazing cool production,
inside a park for children. She was hired to be
a space girl, and found it to be so much fun. She
was having a blast, lip singing in Japanese, still
not understanding much about their language and culture,
but it really was a gift to be able to experience
their culture while growing and learning all the
while.
After returning
from Japan, back to Australia, Silvia felt she
was now fully ready to conquer the world again.
So she decided to go to Brazil, via Miami. Upon
first arriving in the States, she found herself
quickly falling in love with the people and culture.
There was so much going on, she found it intoxicating
and could not leave. All the doors were opening
and she felt blessed to have real friends who helped
her to be successful in this country. It was been
over six years, Silvia is now an American Citizen,
and has been doing well as an entertainer and company
manager, producing an incredible variety of great
shows and events, with her ShowMix Productions
team which can be found at. www.showmixproductions.com.

The message Silvia has is a simple
one, never give up on your dreams. In other words,
do not stop dreaming and working to make things
true. As everything in her life has been about music
or around it, with dancing and radio shows, etc…her
next challenge is to pursue her career as a singer, and
continue creating our own music.
Silvia goes on to say, "I am
very excited about the next chapter in my life. It feels
so right. So now, I am in the studio recording some new
tunes, original dance grooves with the Brazilian spice.
I am also doing live performances with my carnival show,
where I sing and dance the most popular hits of Brazilian
music.
Very recently I have been working as an addition to The
Gyrators, a band that has been on the road for
a while, playing mostly jazz/ funk grooves which is helping
to further expanding my influences. With my addition
to the band, we are creating a new version of their music,
adding Brazilian Jazz and samba rhythms to the mix."
The sky is the limit if you believe it!
With 2012 Silvia is seeing a lot of her dreams now becoming
reality. However she knows that she can't stop dreaming
and challenging herself each day. She says, "God is
my source, I pray everyday and I ask HIS guidance to light
my way. I am grateful for all I have achieved with God’s
blessing and all my friends who believed in my talent and
supported the dream. Life is an experience, I am still
on the road following my path, the story is not finished
yet…with more chapters to be added to my tale…
