What does Urban Rebel mean?
Back
when the band first got together at Transit Lounge
and came up with the name Urban Rebel. The name in
itself was not decided because of any true meaning
except that it was catchy. But deep down inside each
member feltrebellious against traditional standard
music and felt the need to create a new style of music
by blending theirgreatest influences such as funk,
rock, Hip pop, alternative rock, metal and melodic
vocals.
Urban Rebel is a groove
rock and heavy funk band from Miami, Florida formed in
2008. The band consists of vocalist “Trip6”,
bassist “ LaC”, drummer “E”,
guitarist “Jim Bob” aka Alex Gonzalez and
guitarist Ronnie Gutierez. Urban Rebel has its unique
blend of sounds that is now called “Street Funk
Rock”, Their fan base of over 7,500 fans on Facebook,
Twitter and MySpace is constantly growing. Urban Rebel
is set to top the mp3 charts with their songs such as
their newest release “Awake”
and the fan favorite “Under Pressure”. Founded
by original members Trip6 and LaC, the band went through
an array of changes both musically and physically. The
group is currently working with Juan Cristobal Losada from
Peer Music/Sonic Projects on their anticipated self-titled
debut LP, TBD 2013. |

Trip6 developed his
unique style as a
result of a lifetime
of musical
influences.
At the age of 3,growing up in a talented musical family, Trip6
toured throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico as a
backup singer for Latin and Salsa bands. Formally
he performed lead vocals for Pepper Pot, aka Halo
Burns, an alternative rock band. Now he is
currently known as the lead singer for South
Florida’s 93Rock Radio Station’s official cover
band Pandia.
Honing his unique melodic sound and song writing
skills, he is now preparing to release a debut
album with "Urban Rebel", which underlies the
changes that Trip 6 has gone through in his
musical career.
At the age
of 26, “E”
is already a 14-year
musical veteran.
Elisa provided the
grooves for New Jerseybased upcoming MTV artist Just Kait and
the Indie/Rock
group The Scarlet Ending. She also provided the pocket
for multiplatinum recording artist DMC’s (formerly known
as Run-DMC) new upcoming debut solo album. She is
also the former drummer of the popular East Coast Rapcore
band and “MTV’s Battle for Ozzfest” contestants,
Sicks Deep.
She is currently the only female endorsed by Dark Horse
Percussion and is profiled in the May 2004 issue of
Modern Drummer and in the October/November 2004
issue of Drum! Magazine.
LaC started
his song writing skills at an early
age in Budapest,
Hungary. There he
developed a passion for
bass guitar and beganhis musical journey performing with local
bands
throughout the city creating a following. With an
eagerness to expand his horizons, LaC moved to Las
Vegas performing live with a psychedelic-electro-rock
band. Shortly after, he decided to move to Miami
where he pieced together Urban Rebel with Trip6.
LaC’s dedication for song writing and technical bass
lines proved to be a success for Urban Rebel, as he is
now preparing to release a debut album.
Jim Bob began
his musical journey in 2001
at the age of 13. Shortly
after he began taking
guitar lessons and
became very serious inhis music. He joined a local band called
Sun Dry Cilo
and played at live shows throughout Florida and on
their recorded album. Shortly after the bands changes
Jim was approached by Urban Rebel in 2012 after
being introduced by producer and family, Manny
Maestro. Considering the seriousness of the band
Urban Rebel, Jim Bob was eager to continue his journey
with one of the local well respected rock bands in South
Florida.
Currently Jim Bob collaborates with the bands live
shows and studio recordings and looks forward on
continuing in the fast paced roller coaster of making
music.
